Happy Halloween! We borrowed a camera today, as our is still in "the shop." Alex's toe is still / again swollen, so he is laying low today. A string of naps! It was a great day, weather-wise. Several of those naps were taken outside.

Pictures from Judy and Mississippi Tervs

Judy's shots of Alex and the rest, from our TN/MS visit October 9-11.
What a beautiful extended family!

Alex is feeling and moving much better today! We went to the park, but only the three of us (Alex, Carlos, myself). I think it is a bit soon to toss and tumble with Gregor and race after Finn and sticks. The dogs did investigate the woods - it was overcast and I am sure smells from the morning deer were lingering.

Alex went with me to run errands today, including a stop at a local pet store. The folks all said HELLO and how cute his face is - and it is!

I saw "The King and I" tonight with friends. When I got home, Alex was so excited to be outside, he jumped up the rock wall - a first in my knowledge - and then back down it again! Guess his back paw is better even than I thought!

Alex jammed his toe at the park on Sunday with Gregor, Carlos and Finn. He was limping pretty good and we did visit the vet on Monday. He is improving quickly now!

The digital camera is still down, so pictures will just have to wait.

Have a great week!

St Jude Showcase of Dogs, Memphis TN - Day 1

Day 1 - Reserve Dog

Alex had a great weekend in Memphis! He met lots of friends, canine relatives, and won points toward his Conformation Championship on day 2.

Judy and Diana (? I hope!)

Day 2

10-9-2004
"Winners Dog" and 3 points!!!!
as well as "Best of Opposite Sex"

Clark, Alex and Diana at the Showcase, held by Mary Beth, Pat, and Bill. Photos by Judy!
It was a rainy, drizzly day at the St Jude Showcase of Dogs. This is Alex and I in our final showing for BOB on Saturday.
We got "Best of Opposite (Sex)".
The girl behind us won the Best of Breed that day.
Ta-Daaaa!!!

CGC anyone?

Alex passed the Canine Good Citizen test on Saturday! YES!!

Day 3

Sunday we set up Alex with a micro-chip in case he is ever lost and separated from his collar. He can be identified by a little chip implanted between his shoulders.

We did not show on Sunday, but did watch the other Tervs compete.

Back at Judy's Terv-house, Alex gets to know Percy (in down) and Clark (his littermate).
Alex has the bandana on in all the group photos.

Running in the Holly Springs Cemetary

Max, Alex, Clark, and Diana after a good run.
This is me, talking to Diana in the rain about important stuff.
Running with the herd - Alex, Max, Clark, and Diana. Diana and Alex are of the same parents, four years apart. Max and Diana are parents to Clark (and Percy you will see later).

Tervuren Family Reunion

Family reunion! My digital camera crashed on me during our Memphis trip. I wouldn't have this if it weren't for new phone technology! Hopefully, we will get some clearer shots back next week. Alex with bandana, Max (11yrs) behind him; Percy and Clark (born 11/02)and Diana (born 10/99) on the left.

Alex weighs in at 47.7 this week.

Kentucky Speedway

Alex! In the winner's circle today at Kentucky Speedway, Sparta, KY.
We cheered #26, the yellow racer!
Kentucky Raceway.... the center two took "racing lessons" that allowed them to lap the track ten times each in a real racecar! Wooo - hooo! The rush! Alex got to watch the whole thing, although he had more fun with the little girls and the chewing plastic bottles.
Who is this masked person?
After a full morning at the Kentucky Raceway, Alex slept in the back, but as close to Kim as he could get, all the way to where we left her car.
