Last weekend, I went to visit the neighbors... 3 lots over, the street behind us. I walked out onto their deck and there was Alex - watching me. I had to use most of the zoom on my camera to get the shot this close! You would not see him at all if I used the regular no-zoom. ;-)
You can see how high up we are by the city shot. Can't get this view from my place, darn!

My first dog and my best trainer.
Carlos brought me into dogs, behavior and all the wonderful and caring dog-friends I have made in the past ten years. He will be greatly missed!

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Alex and I try Rally - qualified for 1st leg of Novice A

 
 

It was over 90 by the time Alex and I did our Rally trial. He was tired and hot and you can see by my hair that I was not far behind him! We scored 86 (out of 100) and passed our first leg. Next time, I hope the breed ring is in grass and the Rally ring is air conditioned. LOL

It was hot in Hamilton this weekend, but the OVBTC was HOT! Splash won BOB on Sunday, Tryst won on Monday, Annette finished her Novice A title and Alex started his. Clair proved to the world what we already know - such a princess! Alex couldn't get a point with all these diva's around, but do you see the great smile he gave to Auntie Susan? No ill will here! Susan ran her two and Alex, in between agility and rally. You GO Girl!

All round great fun! Boy am I bushed now, though. Alex is flat as a pancake and I am ready to join him. Do I really have to go to work tomorrow? I need a day off to recover!

Alex won his class today. Competition was nil in Am Bred, but Susan and Korey promise to give us some as soon as he passes the 12-18 months class. Jamie Baker and Splash won Best of Breed today! Big Congrats to them!!

Spring Bath Time

 

In preparation for the Butler County Dog Show, Alex got a bath last week. We took a walk around the block to help him dry off and stopped at the Incline. What a view!

It has rained a LOT in the past couple of weeks. Today, there is a nice breeze and the roses are almost ready to pop out and say HOWDY!

I got home this afternoon from a short stay at the ABTC Nationals. Many of my friends are still there, having great fun! My boys were missing me, so it is good to be home.

The flowers are starting to come out in force, the cherry blossoms are out (for the third time this spring) and the Cleveland Pear tree is full of white blossoms. Alex is very excited with the cool wind now blowing after all the storms Friday night.
